Topeka Scarecrows Welcome Back Marc Witt As Chief Commercial Officer
Experienced sports executive returns after playing an instrumental role in the Scarecrows’ inaugural season
TOPEKA, Kan. — The Topeka Scarecrows are proud to announce the return of Marc Witt, who will serve as the organization’s Chief Commercial Officer for the 2026-2027 season.
Witt played an integral role in establishing the Scarecrows’ presence in Topeka during the franchise’s inaugural season. In his role as Chief Commercial Officer, he will continue overseeing the organization’s commercial initiatives, including corporate partnerships, ticket sales, fan engagement and community outreach.
A native of Erie, Pennsylvania, and a graduate of Edinboro University, Marc brings extensive sales and leadership experience from across professional hockey.
He began his sports career in 2011 as an account executive with the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL. The following season, Witt joined the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League as a senior account executive.
Marc later advanced to the National Hockey League, joining the Columbus Blue Jackets as a group event specialist. He led the organization in sales for three consecutive seasons before returning to the AHL as vice president of the Binghamton Devils, a position he held for three seasons.
Witt joined the Topeka Scarecrows ahead of their inaugural season and became a driving force behind the organization’s early commercial and community success.
“We are thrilled to welcome Marc back to our organization this season as our Chief Commercial Officer,” Scarecrows owner Don Lewis said. “Marc played an instrumental role in our success last year, and his dedication to both our team and the Topeka community is unmatched.
“Without Marc’s leadership and contributions during our inaugural season, we would not have achieved the level of success we experienced. He is passionate about creating the best possible experience for our fans while ensuring our players remain actively involved in giving back to the community.”
With Witt returning to lead the team’s commercial efforts, the Scarecrows remain committed to building lasting relationships throughout Topeka, strengthening the organization’s connection with its fans and business partners, and creating an outstanding experience both at the arena and throughout the community.
