TOPEKA SCARECROWS RE-SIGN CAPTAIN T.J. SNEATH AND STEVEN KLINCK AHEAD OF 2026-27 SEASON

The Topeka Scarecrows are proud to announce the re-signing of forwards T.J. Sneath and Steven Klinck for the 2026-27 Federal Prospects Hockey League season, bringing back two impact players who played key roles during the club's inaugural campaign.

Sneath returns after serving as the first captain in Topeka Scarecrows franchise history, setting the standard both on and off the ice during the organization's inaugural season. The veteran forward appeared in 32 regular season games, recording 13 goals and 21 assists for 34 points, while providing leadership, professionalism, and a championship mindset throughout the locker room. He finished among the team's offensive leaders despite an injury plagued season.

"We are pleased to add our captain from last season. TJ will be a playing assistant coach and with his experience be able to assist our new head coach Ahmed Mahfouz." General Manager Robbie Nichols told Media members of the acquisition.

Klinck returns after arriving in Topeka in a trade-deadline deal with the Watertown Wolves, a move that immediately strengthened the Scarecrows' forward group. Prior to the trade, Klinck amassed 28 goals and 29 assists for 57 points in 35 games with Watertown before adding 3 goals and 5 assists in 7 regular season games for Topeka, making an immediate impact down the stretch as the Scarecrows secured a playoff berth. 

Nichols was quick to praise Steven Klinck one of his late season acquisitions "Bringing back a natural goal scorer will give us more scoring depth. Klinck can change the outcome of a game just being out there on the ice. We are trying to make sure we have three lines that can score goals at anytime."  

The signings continue a busy offseason for the Scarecrows as the organization prepares for the 2026-27 campaign and continues assembling a roster capable of competing for a Commissioner’s Cup.
