Topeka Scarecrows Re-Acquire Elijah Wilson And Add Vadim Frolov In Pee Dee Dispersal Draft
TOPEKA, Kan. — The Topeka Scarecrows have added two impactful pieces to their roster, selecting forwards Elijah Wilson and Vadim Frolov in the Pee Dee IceCats Dispersal Draft ahead of the 2026-27 Federal Prospects Hockey League season.
The selections bring both familiarity and experience to Topeka, as Wilson returns to the organization after becoming a fan favorite during the Scarecrows' inaugural season, while Frolov adds veteran leadership and a physical presence to the offensive corps.
Wilson returns after beginning last season with the Scarecrows, where he appeared in 39 games, recording 17 goals and 18 assists for 35 points, while adding 38 penalty minutes and finishing with a +10 rating. Following his time in Topeka, Wilson joined the Pee Dee IceCats, where he posted 3 goals and 3 assists for 6 points in 10 regular-season games before elevating his game during the postseason. He registered 4 goals and 3 assists for 7 points in 9 playoff games, helping the IceCats reach the Commissioner's Cup Finals.
General Manager Robbie Nichols said "Elijah is a pure goal scorer. We had a chance to re-acquire him and we knew it was the right decision. Elijah is a great person and I was talking with him throughout the playoffs. I wanted him to win and he got a great taste of what it is like to make it to the finals and now we hope he'll bring that back here to help us win it here in Topeka."
Frolov arrives in Topeka after serving as one of Pee Dee's veteran forwards. Known for his physical edge, hard hitting style and ability to log important minutes, Over the course of two seasons in the FPHL, split between Danbury and Pee Dee, Vadim accumulated 36 goals and 47 assists for 83 points in 93 games and added 190 penalty minutes. Perhaps even more impressive are the 12 playoff games in 2 seasons scoring 2 goals and one assist for 3 points and adding 22 penalty minutes en route to the Commissioner's Cup Finals while in Pee Dee.
"Vadim comes to us after being part of a team that made a deep playoff run, and there's real value in bringing players into our room who understand what it takes to compete late into the season. He's a skilled player with a great work ethic, and we think he'll fit very well with the culture we're building here." Nichols said of the acquisition.
The addition of Wilson gives Topeka another proven scoring threat, while Frolov strengthens the offensive corps as the Scarecrows continue assembling their roster under Head Coach Ahmed Mahfouz for the franchise's second season.
