Scarecrows Add Size And Experience With Borodkin And Many Guns

TOPEKA, Kan. — The Topeka Scarecrows continue building their roster for the 2026–27 season with the signings of goaltender Anton Borodkin and forward Trygve Many Guns.

Borodkin, a 6-foot-2 native of Surgut, Russia, brings valuable professional experience to the Scarecrows’ crease. The athletic netminder previously posted an 18-13-0 record with a .907 save percentage during the 2024–25 season. He was also named the FPHL Rookie of the Month after beginning that campaign with a 9-2-0-1 record, a 3.04 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage through his first 12 appearances. After a tough season last year with a Biloxi team that struggled to find its identity, a season in Topeka should be a huge step for the young netminder.

“Anton has shown that he can be a difference-maker at this level,” said Scarecrows General Manager Robbie Nichols. “He is athletic, competitive and capable of making the difficult saves that can change the momentum of a game. We believe he will be an important part of our group this season.”

Many Guns makes his way to Topeka after being drafted by the Scarecrows ahead of their inaugural campaign. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound left wing returned to school last year, recording two goals and an assist in two appearances. The Siksika Nation, Alberta, native adds a powerful physical presence to the lineup and brings experience from the Western Hockey League, Alberta Junior Hockey League, Manitoba Junior Hockey League and FPHL. His FPHL experience came in Monroe two seasons ago where he posted 20 points in 37 games and added 149 PIMs.

“Trygve brings size, toughness and a tremendous amount of energy every time he steps onto the ice,” Nichols said. “He made an impression during his opportunity with the Moccasins, and we are excited to see what he can accomplish with a full training camp and a larger role here in Topeka.”

The additions of Borodkin and Many Guns give Topeka two more experienced competitors as the organization prepares for its second season at Landon Arena.
