Nichols Steps Down as Head Coach, Will Remain on As General Manager

After a successful first season in Topeka that saw more than 115,000 fans come through the doors of the Stormont Vail Events Center and a 30-20-6 record that earned the franchise its first playoff appearance in its inaugural season, Coach Nichols has decided to focus full-time on his managerial duties of which he holds 25 years of experience. The move is intended to help ensure the franchise continues its positive momentum while building for long-term success and the future of the organization.

Although he won't be behind the bench, he will be more actively involved off the ice with all our great partners and fans. I've always believed, and continue to believe, that Robbie has left a lasting mark on the Scarecrows' legacy, and he will continue doing so. I know that he and his dog Buddie will stay deeply engaged in the community to continue to make Topeka proud.
